Memorial Day Four

Families of the parade marchers gathered on Freight Street,

while parade participants got in last minute practice sessions.

Cell phone communication helps coordinate parade organization. How did they manage in the old days?

the feeling of these photos seem more serious, maybe more sedate, than the exuberance of the ST P. day photos (as they should be). My question is, did you find it easier or harder working in close with this crowd than the other (somewhat 'tanked') crowd.

Lyle, the mood was very, very different. In all three Memorial Day events I covered I felt much more like an outside observer-- "outside looking in" while at the St. Pat's day stuff it was much easier to be right in the middle of the action. The success rate, number of pictures I like, is lower in the Memorial Day work, too.
