Robert, here in southern New England we're having a great flowering tree year. It was a cold winter, we had an early hot spell in March, and then cool wet weather for the peak weeks. Everything just seemed to come together. Great year for daffodils too, but they're just about over. Crab-apples are done, but dogwoods are still near peak.

Trees only flower for a short time , a sight to enjoy. Spring seems later this year than the last 2 or 3 , at least here in southern Canada.
