Carl, this photograph and others on wpII and wp, remind me of what I have been seeing for years on the drives to Cobleskill and Cooperstown, ny, to see family......i guess the rest of the country is unfortunately catching up....
Cooperstown strikes me as much more rural than the Naugatuck valley. The area had its prosperous heyday in the late 1800s and has been trying to stage comebacks for more than a century. It's an urban/suburban area without adequate industrial/corporate base for support. I want to think more about the visual differences between this and more rural but equally economically challenged areas.
